January – March 2025 Edition
Message from the Chairman
Dear Stakeholders,
As we move forward into 2025, I am proud to reflect on our continued progress and achievements. The commissioning of our new milling line marks a critical step in enhancing our production of recovered Carbon Black (rCB), reinforcing our commitment to innovation and sustainability. Furthermore, our nomination for the Recircle Awards is a testament to the dedication and expertise of our team, pushing the boundaries of circular economy solutions.
Our recent Letter of Intent with Aresol Renewables for a joint venture in Spain signals our strategic growth beyond North America, bringing us closer to a more sustainable future on a global scale.
Warm regards,
Eliot Sorella
Executive Chairman, Ecolomondo Corporation
Milling Line Commissioning Underway
Over the past year, Ecolomondo has invested significant resources to upgrade the milling and conveying equipment at its Hawkesbury facility’s recovered carbon black (rCB) department. The newly commissioned milling line will enable the facility to process up to 2,200 lbs of rCB per hour, achieving a particle size distribution of 90% between 10-15 microns, meeting the specifications required by most of our off-take customers.
The execution of this upgrade was seamless, thanks to meticulous planning and integration. Production of recovered Carbon Black (rCB) is expected to commence by mid-April 2025, marking another milestone in our commitment to sustainability.
Expansion into Spain – Letter of Intent Signed
Ecolomondo is excited to announce the signing of a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Aresol Renewables for a joint venture in Spain.
Ecolomondo is excited to announce the signing of a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Aresol Renewables for a joint venture in Spain.
Aresol is a business group specializing in the development and execution of renewable energy projects, from conception to full-scale operation. As part of its expansion strategy, Aresol intends to establish multiple tire pyrolysis projects across Spain and has selected Ecolomondo’s advanced Canadian pyrolysis technology for its implementation.
Under this joint venture, Ecolomondo and Aresol, along with potential investors, will establish a new entity to develop a pyrolysis plant capable of processing 20,000 tons of end-of-life tires per year. The facility will produce:
✅ Tire Pyrolysis Oil
✅ Recovered Carbon Black
✅ Steel
✅ Syngas
Ecolomondo will provide proprietary tire pyrolysis technology, while financial and operational responsibilities will be distributed proportionally among the partners. The final structure and terms of the venture will be detailed in definitive agreements.
This collaboration marks a major step forward in Ecolomondo’s global expansion, furthering our commitment to sustainable resource recovery.
Additionally, Ecolomondo is advancing its expansion in the United States with its flagship project in Shamrock, Texas. Set to commence in 2025, this state-of-the-art facility will process approximately 60,000 tons of end-of-life tires annually, making it one of the largest tire pyrolysis plants in North America. The Shamrock project is a cornerstone of Ecolomondo’s strategy to scale its proven technology globally, ensuring high-value resource recovery and a strong contribution to the circular economy.

AMENDMENTS TO LOAN AGREEMENTS WITH EXPORT DEVELOPMENT CANADA (EDC)
Ecolomondo’s original C$32.5 million loan from EDC was instrumental in financing the construction of our state-of-the-art thermal decomposition facility in Hawkesbury, Ontario, designed to process end-of-life tires into valuable resources.
As part of the revised terms, EDC has agreed—subject to final documentation—to a principal and interest holiday for almost 2 years on the CA$ 32.5 million loan
Additionally, two other loans were extended to Ecolomondo Environmental (Hawkesbury) Inc., the subsidiary that owns the Hawkesbury facility:
- C$3 million loan (announced in May 2024)
- C$2 million loan (announced in November 2024)
EDC has also agreed to a temporary deferral of interest and capital payments on these loans, providing financial flexibility as we advance our strategic initiatives.

Ecolomondo Nominated for the Recircle Awards
We are thrilled to share that Ecolomondo has been nominated for the prestigious Tire Pyrolysis Award at the 2025 Recircle Awards. This nomination underscores our dedication to innovation and sustainability in the circular economy. It is comforting to see that our hard work is being noticed by our industry peers. Thank you to the nomination committee for noticing Ecolomondo’s exceptional TDP technology which sets a new standard in the scrap tire pyrolysis industry.
